Human Services
Maryanne came out of retirement (for a second time) and joined the Senior Community Center in January 2023 as a part-time bookkeeper. As our center experienced growth, so did the need for an expanded financial role. Maryanne now serves as our Director of Finance and HR. Maryanne is a native of Owensboro and a lifelong resident of Kentucky. After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, she worked for the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet in Frankfort. Maryanne returned to Owensboro in 1990 to begin an extensive career working with educational and non-profit organizations. She nurtured her passion for helping others by drawing upon her accounting and financial background, serving in a financial capacity for community organizations such as Owensboro Public Schools, Audubon Area Community Services, and Audubon Area Head Start, from which she retired in 2018. Not to stay retired for very long, Maryanne joined Daniel Pitino Shelter part-time as the Finance Director in 2019. Maryanne also served as Treasurer for Lighthouse Recovery Services and as a board member of IMPACT100 Owensboro, of which she has been a member since 2021. Maryanne's values of compassion, integrity, and community service align perfectly with the mission of the Senior Community Center, and she is dedicated to upholding these values in her role as Finance and HR Director.
Maryanne is married to Mike Mountain. They have three children and five grandchildren, whom they love to spoil. She enjoys a diverse range of hobbies, including traveling, gardening, reading, and yoga. Since her retirement, she has taken up golf, which her husband enjoys, as well as watercolor painting, among other new hobbies, showcasing her multifaceted personality and zest for life.
