A Community Response for Education Recovery

4/22/2021

Town Hall Meeting Recording: KNN hosts weekly calls via Zoom to discuss updates related to COVID-19, relevant resources, advocacy initiatives and relevant topics.

On our 4/22 Virtual Town Hall Meeting, we will discuss how Kentucky nonprofits can work with schools and local government to maximize the impact of federal stimulus funding for COVID-19 relief. Given the need and the resources available, it is time for communities to roll up their sleeves and have the creative, solutions-focused, conversations about how to use what we’ve learned in the past year to do more than recover – we must build a new foundation for education – one that is stronger, more resilient, and seeks to repair the challenges and inequities laid bare amidst COVID.

Join us and our partners, the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, for a panel discussion on the potential of these community partnerships and strategies to ensure nonprofits and local leaders are working together to build a strong new foundation for education excellence. Panel moderated by Brigitte Blom Ramsey, Prichard Committee. Panelists include: Tom Haggard, KY Out-of-School Alliance; Sadiqa Reynolds, Louisville Urban League; and Houston Barber, Frankfort Independent School District.
