KNN hosts Virtual Town Hall Meetings via Zoom every other week to connect regularly with nonprofits across Kentucky to provide timely information and resources. Join us at 10:30am ET every other Thursday.  

Proactive planning is the key to creating a safe workplace for your employees and clients. The risks of hostile workplace behavior can keep you up at night and it can be easy to pretend it can never happen at your nonprofit, but when hostile workplace behavior goes unchecked, it can have a wide-ranging impact. Bullying, harassment, intimidation, and verbal and physical aggression are just a few examples of concerning behaviors that have negative impacts on organizations. These behaviors are often precursors to serious physical violence. In addition to the risk of violence, lost productivity, employee turnover, reputational damage, and lawsuits are other potential consequences of failing to proactively create a safe workplace.

On our 7/13 Virtual Town Hall meeting, our partners at HUB International join us to share tips for nonprofits to develop prevention, intervention, response, and recovery-focused plans for workplace safety and security including:

  • Workplace Violence Prevention & Intervention Programs
  • Threat Assessment & Management Capabilities
  • Emergency Action Plans – Active Shooter/Active Assailant Readiness

This Town Hall will help nonprofits new to this conversation identify resources to get started, as well as provide a refresher for organizations experienced in proactively addressing workplace safety.
